Voici les Shippermoments de Pat Steiner
==============
Good evening all and welcome to episode 9 of season 10. I have to say that
other than the previews in the last JAG, I have not seen a promo for tonight.
Lots for CSI, Without a Trace, Joan etc. all week but nary a JAG. Understand
Harm and Mac are working with FBI staff and that of course there will be
another 'meanwhile back at JAG' story. I also confess to looking past this one to
get to the Christmas one which promises to be max shipper.
Open with:
Washington County Maryland location,

officers on a bridge checking an
abandoned car. The report on the license shows Cdr. Adam Kohler, working in a
Naval Research Lab for biological weapons, like anthrax.
Harm and Mac come to the scene and meet Agent Benton FBI, who suspects AK
could have been murdered, kidnapped or have defected. Or jumped over the bridge.
"Ah love is in the air" Mac says when Harm and AB talk about jurisdiction.
Harm broaches the theory that he may have accidentally gone over the side
after a car accident given that the car is damaged. AB is persuaded it need to be
investigated as a terrorist plot.
Mac and Harm talk to Cresswell about the case. CG then assigns Bud a case of
a female Marine boxer who wants to compete in a male event. Needless to say
we won't be going there.
Harm and Mac start their investigation. Their first interviewer suggests AK
might have been suffering depression. They're informed AK dated a co-worker,
'one cubicle over'. That draws a wry look from Mac. The woman has since
married another man after they broke up. She also purports suicide/depression and
states a family history.
Mac and Harm at JAG working on security films etc. It's really nice to see
them working real close together. They talk theories and signs of suicidal
tendency. "Inability to sustain relationships" Mac offers. "That could be
either one of us" Harm tells her and earns another quirky expression back.
They go visit AK's sister--Sarah. A name that looms large through all of
DB's work.
Now we get Bud's boxing inquiry. You know, not only am I tired of Bud, I
detest boxing in general.
FBI HQ with Mac and Harm talking to AB who has information concerning an
argument AK had recently. Man named OBrien. They interview him and he says he
has nothing to hide.
Mac and Harm in his office, she brings him coffee as they talk case. Joined
by AB who has discovered biological weapons info on AK's hard drive,
suggesting he was working on that sort of thing for someone other than the Navy. Turns
out they're his dad's old records.
I'm really enjoying here that Harm and Mac are totally in tune with each
other working together; and that they're genuinely listening to each other.
AK's dad committed suicide and he was working on getting the body exhumed.
He believed the US govt was responsible. They're referred to CIA--no not Clay,
another older agent who had left the agency and knew of AK's dad.
Would you believe CG and the Boxer Sgt. are going to box for fun. You know
on an old Major Dad there was a show about a pool tournament and they said it
was against regs for an enlisted to play against an officer. Now they're
pounding on each other.
The CIA assassination manual comes into play as they talk about whether AK's
dad might have been eliminated. They talk again to Olin, the older retired
agent again. Harm and Mac both accuse him of running AK off the road--he
denies. Tells Harm to get his prints he'll have to go to court. "You're a
JAG--that's your day job right" he says.
15 Mins. to go. We can wrap this and get to the previews any time thank you.
Mac and Harm watching old Kohler family movies from 1971. Harm remembers he
was about the same age when his dad was shot down and how it is to want
answers. He and Mac talk very quietly and gently with each other--totally at ease
and in tune. Just wish we would get some more personal type lines.
Surveillance cameras take them back to their first interview, the lab doctor
and his wife. Harm accuses the wife of being a KGB agent in the early 70s.
AB offers that they can get this guy for AK's murder and Mac looks at Harm
knowing he's not quite sure.
At the bridge we see the doctor and AK talking and seeing how AK set the
entire thing up to make officials look back into his dad's death. AK says you
murdered my father--admit it. He does.
Harm and Mac arrive with AB--they were listening through a bugging device.
The doctor is arrested. AK goes--32 years to find the answer, it feels good.
"I know" Harm nods, and Mac smiles up at him. Nice closing scene.
REACTION: Nice that they were together; also nice that the boxing story
didn't take up a large part of the hour. Would have enjoyed more of the banter
between them they used to manage in between more serious moments. I also
enjoyed that this was not a courtroom episode which they can get so tedious.
PREVIEWS: Finally. Mac's accident. Flashes of old scenes, Clay etc. Harm
says--I'm tired of looking in on your life, I want to be a part of it. Mac
says--but not necessarily in response--I can't do it. Then--oh yeah--there is
the sweetest kiss. But the voice-over mentioned Mac's dreams so I'm not going
to allow that it's real until I see it. We also hear the shrink's voice
going--why do you always choose to be alone. If nothing else, the previews lived
up to my expectations. Don't go anywhere people--there is love on the horizon.
