Good evening all and welcome to episode 12 of Season 10. The title refers
to Petty Officer Jen Coates traveling with Harm and Mac and somehow ending up
on the jury. Whatever there. And at least Mac and Harm are together--now we
just have to hope what conversation they have manages to include some non-case
talk, especially since they're opposing. Anyone want to bet on the trial
outcome now?
As far as last week's episode not continuing the good feelings of Four
Percent, well nor did it invalidate them. IT was just one of those deals where DB
wanted a Harm episode and to insure it, sent Harm away from JAG leaving Mac the
short end of the script. It's just sad that Bud had a bigger part. Not
right!
But we're going to have them together tonight so we'll make the most of that.
We open with: a bar fight in Key West Florida. Two guys and a girl. Oh
there was kissing involved before that. The girl and guy run out to his car and
the guy is shot from behind.
JAG HQ--it's snowing hard and they're being sent to Florida. Rough duty. I
wouldn't mind a little time in Florida myself--it didn't even make it to zero
here today and it was 15 below over night [Minneapolis].
There's a couple of cute lines between Harm and Mac Cresswell about not going
for spring break and that he expects them both to come back still pasty
white. Mac had mentioned sunsets and Harm Margarittaville.
He'll be defending and Mac prosecuting. The case involved jealousy,
fraternization, a love triangle etc. Jen is working with Mac. Petty Officer Russ
Foyle is the accused.
Jen and Mac after hours walking in the street dressed in appropriate civvies,
walking and talking. What a cute couple.
Jury picking time. This is how Jen gets on the panel apparently. Too many
of the local base populace know the victim, the accused etc. Yep, Jen is
assigned and we can get on with it.
The usual testimony and objections along with investigation outside the
courtroom. They are staying with the trial unusually much though--not switching
hardly at all back to JAG, where they're snowed in. I know the feeling. Harm
did just talk to Bud to ask him to check something.
Harm and Mac are fighting back and forth in court. The judge tells Harm to
save his stand up routine for happy hour--sometimes that Rabb charm doesn't
play all that well apparently. Just by virtue of the fact that Mac and Harm are
in the same room I'm enjoying this one more than last week's.
Jen saw a jury member socialize with a witness and reports it to the judge
who dismisses her concern. But she raises later the matter in court and the
judge has them all in his office, talking about who's sleeping with who, who's
spying on who etc. Potential mistrial is avoided but there is a question raised
that the base CO, female, may have been jealous of the guy with home the
female member of the triangle was involved with. If that made sense. Mac and
Harm talking to that CO out of court now and Mac asks her if she desired an
intimate relationship with the woman, making her a possible suspect in the murder.
She has an alibi--and a husband.
Harm visits the woman at home--guess so we can see him in civvies, then he
encounters Mac and Jen downtown, asks Jen to give them a few minutes and he
actually puts his hand on Mac's arm to lead her away. Hey I'm desperate here!!
She also puts her hand up toward his.
Of course. Harm has uncovered the real killer, making his client innocent
and lo and behold it was the judge. And we see them all back in DC in GC's
office. So sad--a beautiful setting like Key West and we can't even have Harm
asking Mac to dinner before they go back.
REACTION: Well just having them together made it better than last week, and
no one was kissing Mac and Harm. Of course nor were they kissing each other
but someday I pray. As with all episodes, I saw several places where
extraneous stuff could have been cut to make room for a few personal lines with Mac and
Harm but then no one ever invites me to do the editing.
No previews. The next new JAG is not for 3 weeks and then we're supposed to
have 4 new but stay tuned--the schedule seems to change daily!!
